Open Question: Mom and grandma are always fighting? Need immediate help.?
Okay so my mother and grandma and me moved to a new home about two years ago, where I still live. But lately they haven’t been getting along, but this has really been going on for a long time. But it is just now starting to get serious.
My mom works a normal job while my grandma is retired, she just sits home all day while I’m either at school or mom is working with the dog. She’s also a worry wart. She alwyas thinks something is going ot happen. The main reason they bought this house together was because my mom and I were living in an apartment and we wnated a real house, and my grandma was living alone and alwyas afriad, etc…
From the start, I knew it’d be bad.
Lately my mom and I haven’ really been getting along. My grandma is always talking to me about my mom, and I just want to yell at her because, there’s nothing I can do about it and I don’t even want to ehar it. Usually she’s just saying how she can’t take care of me and how she always goes out.
This is true, though. I just don’t want to hear about it. My mother can take care of me fine, and i can take care of myself, I can work a microwave =D (sort of a joke). My mother goes out quite a lot, maybe 1-3 times a week. SO I barely see her. And when she is home, I’m really just in my room because I don’t know what to talk with her about. We used to be the best of friends, but things changed when she grounded me for nearly 2 months just because I didn’t wake up one morning on accident (ten minutes later than usual).
Now it just seems like she’s always on her period or something.
She just got back from a vacation for three days in Florida.
I enjoyed the peace and quiet, because my grandma never bothers me unless I’m hungry, but gramma just kept complaining about how she was in FLorida…
me too, however. I thought that was just weird. SHe alwyas was saying how she needed a vacation and needed to get out of this house… when she’s barely hme really to begin with. Usually when she is home, she’ll just get something to eat, then go to her room, where I will chat with her for a few minutes, and then I’ll leave and she’ll go to bed.
But now, the serious part.
This is a coupl days after she returned home, and my grandmother told me while mom was still in Florida that in the morning she was threatening her to move out or something along those lines.
ANd now I just talked with my mother over the phone and she let something slip about a realtor. I asked what that was about and she said that she would talk about it with me later, but said that we were probably moving since my grandma wasn’t going too.
I am hella not moving. Moving to this place was already a pain. I live by all my friends and in a great suburban neighborhood. And now I have a dog in it, and I want to keep my dog, surely my mom does too. But that dog is all that keeps my grandma company, too.
Gramma is just always worrying and alwyas complaining about something… but she’s like, mid-70’s so that’s all she really has to do anyway…
I just need help. Like, immiedately. Mom and I are talking about that moving thing tonight where she is hopefully explaining things. Should I jump into the arguement and tell grandma to just stop pissing mom off? Because that’s basically what mom has been implying, saying that gramma says she can’t take care of me because she’s never home. She’s just sick of it.
But I Am Too.
THis also happened not long ago when I was younger, where they didn’t talk for two months, but that’s when I barely saw grandma so I didn’t care.
I just don’t want to move, and I want this childish fight to stop. I want them to just stop thinking of things to argue with each other about.
I just want it to stop. I don’t want to move, I don’t want to deal with this, I don’t want to do anything but sit in the nice peace and quiet and confinement of my room awhile blasting some Tokio Hotel to drown out the emotions.
Haha that sounded so like emo or something.
ANYWAY PLEASE HELP.

Open Question: house sitter sister drama!?
Im going out of town with my husband for a week and a half. We have 3 cats that need to be fed and watered and we need someone to check the mail. In the past, my sister has watched my cats for me but the last time I came home after my week-long honeymoon, her and her boyfriend had trashed my house, drank 3 bottles of alcohol that was in the back of my cupboard. My blender and iced tea maker were on the floor of my livingroom…..but she did the dishes and made a big deal over how she “helped” me. My cats didnt die, so I guess that she kept them fed. I wanted to give her another chance to do a big favor for me and prove to me that she could be trusted to act like an adult (she’s 20). For the past several nights, Ive had nightmares about coming home to my house after my much needed vacation. She already said that she would stay at my place (for at least a few days) and then come back just to feed the cats. I really would rather pay a perfect stranger than to give her my house key. Her boyfriend who just turned 21 drinks NON stop and I dont want to have the cops called on my home while Im away. Would you risk giving her another chance and spelling out for her what is acceptable and what is not or would you tell her that the deal is off and get someone else to do it. I plan on asking my mom and mother in law to share the job for us while we’re away (since they’ve offered to help with that in the past) but I fear that my mom will say that Im just paranoid and let my sister do the job for her. The other big issue is, we will return the weekend before her 21st birthday. For the past 2 weeks, she keeps asking “when are you leaving and when are you coming back?”….sounds like someone might be planning a party! Also, if I tell her the deal is off, should I make up some b.s. reason to not hurt her feelings and start trouble or tell her the truth?
un-needed in-laws….good excuse! yea, she does have her own place…..her, her alcoholic bf and two other people….in ONE place!
thank you all, for the reassurance that I am not a paranoid, psychotic PITA and that my sister cannot be trusted. I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else! I WILL find someone else to do it for me and tell her that its out of the question! Thanks!
